Well begun is half done

This is what a great saying tells, "Well begun is half done". Not sure, how true is this saying. But what I can tell is, I have started progressing to achieve my bucket list's first item. Ok ok, I know that not all of you are aware of what this bucket list is all about and what is my first bucket list item, so here is a short description on the same. Basically bucket list is a collection of items which you want to do before-you-die. And my first bucket list item is to, perform in a rock band !!! Fine? Ok, so now let me come to the point. Actually we had our company's annual event on last Saturday. The most important thing for me in that event was my performance :). Obviously. Everyone will have their own performance "the most" important. Is it not? Yes, but for me it was important in different sense. No no no, not because this was my first performance. It was probably my, I donno but probably eighth or ninth or more numbered, performance. But this was different in a sense that it was decided by me solely for the first time that what I (rather WE) would perform and how will I (we) perform it. Till now either my friend or audience or my band-member would be deciding what I would be performing. But this time it was different case. And I see this as a beginning, to achieve my ultimate goal of performing in a rock band. So, it was special in sense that it has put me a bit nearer to achieve my goals. Going by above saying, I have begun and my work is half way through. How about you? Where is your bucket list??

Without loosing this opportunity I would also like to add one more item in my bucket list item and that is a bit on fun part. "Be left handed". Yes, I want to start doing things like left handed people do, including playing of Guitar :-0. I am sure that this would be the first item I will strike-out from my bucket list. One of the reason behind addition of this item is, I feel left handed persons are always near to best or best. What do you say?

Give me some sunshine - My guitar instrumental

Guys,

So here I am again, to amaze you with my Guitar strumming. Well, my voice is not so nice and that is why I had to take help of an original song. And yes, I dont have better sophisticated recorder than that of my cell phone :). So, in background if you are listning some dog barking, child crying, people laughing sounds, you need not comment about that in my post. That is not a problem. I am already aware of it :).

So, do enjoy this very nice track from movie, "3 Idiots" and yes, do let me know about my strumming in comment section.

Yipee ..... (part 2)

If you are my regular blog reader (which I do not expect from anyone) or if you are knowing me personally, you must be knowing about my love for music. I would not hesitate to say that music is my first (and only) love & probably in this recession time, if required, it can also be my alternative profession :-). Well, just to mentain my stature I may not go in trains and all for playing & getting money :-) but I may join some rock band or something like that. No no no. I am not day dreaming. Neither I had loose my job. All I want to say is, there are people who does this. People who quits their job to pursue their career in their field of passsion -Music. Jee haan. They quit their job. In fact, recently I have met one such kind of guy. Named, Rajeev Rajagopal. He quitted his high paying techie job just to pursue his career in his field of interest -music. To introduce him in a better way, he is a drummer of Bangalore's famous & India's best band Thermal And A Quarter (TAAQ for impatients).

Rajeev was used to work for same company where I am serving right now. I was unaware of his presence (obviously). One day my colleague and me were talking about some thing and than he said me about this guy, Rajeev. At that time I was like, "Ho ga yaar koi. Aise to bahot saare log hua karte hai drum bajane wale". It was than he said, "he is drummer of Bangalore's rock band TAAQ". I was shocked !!! I felt down (safely) from my chair.

Immediately I expressed my feeling to meet Rajeev and as I had said earlier, I met him. I talked with him. I shook hands with him. I asked questions to him. But I forgot to wish him :-(. What to do. I was out of my mind and I was so much excited. And probably that is why I forgot. No probs. I got his mail ID from my colleague and wished him all the best later on (Something is better than nothing, Is not it?).

Well, till this time I am sure you are also too much excited to know about TAAQ and Rajeev and all that stuffs. Probably few of you impatience pals may already have started googling on those words before finishing reading my post. I know you and that is why to kill your excitments below are more links realted to TAAQ. Enjoy and do support it. Because you never know, to mark "Perform in a rock band" item as done in my bucket list, tomorrow I may also be on that stage.

What a start of day !!

It was probably tuesday of last weekend. I just wake up on usual time, had done usual morning activities and had as usual breakfast of vada sambhar! Was walking fast to reach bus-stop with  my thoughts about work and project schedule and failing tests and customer etc. Than I noticed 2 girls from my company going just ahead some meters from me ! All those thoughts stopped in a moment  and I started following both of them because of obvious reason that they also will have to catch same bus as of mine to reach office :-). Well, before you start riding on your hourses of imagination let me clarify. They are not THE most beautiful girls on earth or in our company. But in gujarati there is one saying, "ઉજ્જડ વન મા એરન્ડો પ્રધાન" (please don't ask me to translate them in english, because few things I am unable to translate in english. But of course readers are invited to try translating them in english and post it as a comment) . And that is why I started follwing those so called 2 preity girls.

We reached bus-stop and bus came in a moment. Need not to say it was full like hell and it was a bit hot also. So I thought, "are yaar I will no more be able to follow them in this crowd :-(". While thinking this I saw both of them running away from bus. I was puzzled. But puzzle got solved when I see one private cab coming empty. My reflex system itself responded and pulled me out of that bus and made me run towards private cab. And finally, we boarded the same cab and reached office together. (Okay, so I know what are you waiting for. You want to me tell you what has happened during our journey till office, right? But for your kind information, "me ye baat tume nahi batanewala". He he .. enjoy).

I reached to my floor. And bent a little to swipe my card to open locked door. And I observed there is someone on the other side of the door also. So I thought to swipe my card before that till-now-unknown person. I guess, till-now-unknown person has also thought the same way and both of ours card got swiped at almost same time. Door got open. But one of ours entry was not recorded for sure. So I thought, why to take chance. Let me swipe it again. But no I can not afford that. Because, that till-now-unknown person was preity girl. A real priety girl.  A girl whom you observe daily when you goto cafeteria for lunch. A girl whose dress you would like to observe daily. A girl whose wardrobe has more space than your mental memory. So my male-ego wake up. And I gave up swiping my card again and gave a look of "its not my card, its your card which has not got swiped correctly. Do it again. मे तो ये चला". And thus I reached my desk. Before I check all of my mailbox, my manager came to my desk (i donno for what. Because i had given him status yesterday evening before leaving office and he knows very well that I can not sleep in office. But I guess, he had over expected things from me. He must have thought that this guy can eat, drink, sleep here in office and finish-up assigned work. But my dear sir, I am sorry to say you are WRONG.). I was also like, "Let me check my mail atleast yaar.". He asked me to come to meetting room. Well he thought he requested me to come in meeting. But if you were at my place you would realize that it was more than an order of an army BrigadierSo I also told him, "Yes Brigadier". He started speaking about something which I never understands -value addition, schedule impact, stretching a self. And also asked about our opinion. I had given him some opinion. And he also agreed on it. But while agreeing with me suddenly he added, "next week one girl is also joining in our team". Given a chance, I could have stood up from my chair and said 'thats really really great my dear damager (i mean manager).' But I thought it will be very unprofessional to do that. So I resisted myself internally and did not said anything. And than again our talk went into routine mode but unable to control my mind it was wondering in world of day dreams about that 'new' girl.

Than it was time for lunch. I went for lunch together with my other colleagues. Regularly we started conversation. And meanwhile one guy asked to a girl "So how much did you turn into today?". (I think, i missed telling you that it was birthday of an only girl of our group.) And that girl replied, XYZ years. And thus started conversation of asking age of each of the member of team and finding who is oldest and youngest. Everyone said year in which they were born. My turn came last. And when I said, 85. All eyebrows went 10 feet higher than its natural position. Some of them had missed my answer, so asked again, what?. I said again 85. And that remaining eyebrows also went up. Somebody asked "are you married?". Obviously a follish question. But before I reply my supporter clarified, "com'on don't you think he is too young to get married?". Than other one said, "you are of my youngest brother's age yaar". I strted flying in air, literally.  And also felt very good and thought that my before-I-die item of "Wanna be 18 till I live" is becoming true. I think, I have also not shared with you that I have found 2 more items in my before-i-die bucket list. First is, as I said "Wanna be 18 till I live" and second is, "Learn & use non-Gujarti language". Well that language can be any language even difficult south indian dravidian languages . So all south indian girls, hereby I announce that I am open to learn and use any of yours mother tounge. Be it kannada, telugu, malyalam or tamil. Provided that YOU will tech me :-).

Yipee .......

And finally I met Bangalore's rock band TAAQ's drummer !! I was lucky enough by literally a nick of time to meet him and shake hand with him. Whoa !!! I will have to dedicate a separte post for this event for sure. Probably next post ..  Umm, during this weekend. Promise.

My updated bucket list

It took me almost 3 months to find my other 3 bucket list items, after I had found my first bucket list item. So here i m presenting my those updated 3 items :

- Own a grand piano
- Work for "Google"
- Be a "Roadie"

Let me also take these items one by one and elaborate more.

Own a grand piano

It was my collage time when this thought had struck me first time. At that time my wish was kind of imaginary than real. What exactly my wish was this : Have a cool house (Umm.. short of haveli) at sea shore somewhere out side India. Have a grand piano. And after getting married me and my other half will play it together and get lost into it. This quite 'dreamy' kind of wish i have reduced to just 'Own a grand piano'. Because I feel that "should be able to play piano" can not be kept as a condition while choosing life partner :-).

Work for "Google"

This thought had stuck me first time after I had started blogging. I came across many blogs related to Google (this is one of the reason why I do blogging. You got to know about many many things) after I started blogging. One of the blogs link i got was Google Blogoscoped. I came to know many things about Google from there. That was first blog I had subscribed to which posts 'Google related' information. Currently i have subscribed to Google official blog, GMail blog, orkut blog, Google reader blog and list goes on. After reading so many things from various sources and using Google products, I completely fell in love with Google. And thus work for Google became my one of the bucket list item. BTW, Google tops "100 best companies to work for" list made by Fortune 500 magazine for year 2008.

Be a "Roadie"

This thought had stuck to me some one or one and half years ago while watching Roadies 5.0. Well, some of you may be thinking that "What ??? He wants to be a Roadieeeeeee ??". OK let me clarify what I like in Roadie. I like their attitude. I like their style of talking, walking and dressing. They show whatever they are. They do not have any problem speaking whatever they feel. I would like to note down two quotes describing their spirit:

"Do not live as if you re king. Live as if no matter who is a king"
"Win as if you are habituated to it. Loose as if you have lost just for a change"

I like all of the rodies because they are different. And that is why being a Rodie is also on my bucket list item. BTW, some of you may not be aware of what is Roadie. Here is wiki link for that.
So whats there on your bucket list? What? You have even not started preparing it? Uff ....

I found my first bucket list item

Perform in a rock band.

I have found my first bucket list item. And as you might have guessed correctly, it striked me while watching movie "Rock on". How about you? When are you going to prepare your bucket list?

Bucket list

In free time I was surfing and running through blogs of note. On one of the blog I found interesting column named "Bucket list". Where blogger had listed things which he wants to in future. Kind of things-to-do-before-I-die list. I liked it much.

I'm gonna do that someday. How about you?

BTW, below is Heather Petri's Bucket list:

  • Swim with dolphins.
  • Surf enough to feel comfortable riding a wave bigger than my coffee table.
  • Coach a high school water polo team.
  • Hike to Machu Picchu, Peru
  • Ride a camel to see The Pyramids and The Sphinx.
  • Go in a hot air balloon.
  • Roadtrip all over America.
  • Work on a ranch with horses.
  • Travel to Thailand, Tibet, and Africa.
  • Visit a glacier before they all melt.
  • Learn to SCUBA dive and then explore the reefs of the South Pacific.
  • Skydive in a place where I can see the ocean and mountains at the same time.
  • Lay on the ground in front of the Taj Mahal and stare at it for a while.
